“But this shall be the Covenant that I will make with the House of Israel; ‘After those days,’ saith the LORD, ‘I will put My Law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My People. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them,’ saith the LORD: ‘for I will forgive their iniquity, and I Will Remember Their Sin No More.” Jeremiah 31:33-34 KJV
This was written to “the House of Israel” who, if you remember, was the progeny of Jacob, the grandson of Abraham. But there is this distinction made in Scripture concerning those who by faith believe in Jesus: “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (without faith it is impossible). For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek (Gentile), there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye (believers) are all one in Christ Jesus. And IF YE BE CHRIST'S, THEN ARE YE ABRAHAM'S seed (family), and Heirs according to the Promise.” If you believe, trust, and obey God’s Word, then all the Promises in the Word are yours! If you are Christ’s, you will know so by the desire of your heart to please God. “And hereby we do KNOW that we know Him, if we keep (guard as precious) His Commandments.” If you belong to Christ, His desires will be your desires. “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” What are the desires of your heart? We have this precious Promise, that once forgiven by God, He “Will Remember [Our] Sin No More.” These two Promise together are the foundation of our Eternal Hope in Christ! “Which Hope we have as an Anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast.” Not only do these Promises secure our Life eternally in Christ, they neither waver nor vacillate in the storms of circumstance! “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good Work in you will perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ.” Do you watch and wait for that Day?
All my sin He has forgotten,
Because by Faith I am begotten,
Heir of God in Christ, forever,
And nothing from His Love can sever! –CGP
Repentance is the Key to God’s Forgiveness. Returning to the obedience of God’s Word is repentance. It is the heart desire to obey that confesses before God that your deeds are sin. “For with the heart man believeth unto Righteousness. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” We sin, because we don’t believe God’s Word. Belief dictates desire, and your deeds declare your desire. Again, what do you desire?
“He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His Mercy toward them that fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear Him. For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust.” Psalms 103:10-14 KJV
